was talking to my brother inlaw today .and he said they fired 128 people at his company yesterday .becouse they all forwarded a email to each other .it was a santa who who said marry christmas and bent over and mooned you as he said it .this was a cartoon type email .and this was just at one of there office buildings .so a bit of warning all if your at work becareful what you forward in emails big brother may not think its as funny as you do. and this is a union office shop.and the union is not standing behind the workers who forwarded the email.these people were all called in to a meeting room and told your fired and why. this is a major heath insurance company that canned these people just before christmas.
but he said memos had been posted and sent out warning this could happen. and sure enought it did. :(

Well, one thing I have found about companies is that some will try and find any excuse to let a big number of people go that won't make them look bad.

In this case, it puts their company at risk of sexual harassment cases, not to mention the waste of company time and money and the possible risk it could have been infected with a virus.

If there are rules and people break them, they are responsible. Some people are under the impression what they do on their computer can not be monitored, but that is not the case. A company has a right to do it at anytime or all the time. But, the company needs to notify its employees it is doing such.

Sadly, I'm the only person in my company that even knows that Internet Explorer isn't the only way to surf the web. I think I'm fine, not that I do anything that is questionable really.

I get emails from buddies at work with all kinds to stuff, but I never forward them to anyone. In my position as a jr manager I can't because it goes against company policy. To bad that some people can't find things funny and be able to laugh.

When I first started working in the early 70's, I remember having a tool cabinet that has the latest playboy layout on the inside door. I had women in the area and no one complained one bit including my manager. He used it as an excuse to come to my area (had to walk to a different building) to review the items I had rejected for disposition. Those were the good old days.

We had people in my company that got fired for printing porn pics on a network printer. If you are that stupid, then you deserve to get fired.
