Good stuff. I wouldn't be caught within a mile of a grizzly with a cub though.

The bear and sheep photos were taken from a bus in Denali National Park. The animals seem to be almost totally indifferent to the buses. They must view them as moving objects and seem not to know they have a chewy center. Bus riders are forbidden from talking within earshot of the bears if the windows are down and the drivers will not move the bus if any part of your body is out of the window. This is to minimize human interaction with any animal. That being said, the bears were not that close to the bus. The sheep was. Both were taken with a telephoto lens.

You'd be amazed how quick a grizzly can make up a telephoto distance. But being in a bus, I guess it's not too bad. I was worried you were standing in a field with a tripod.

all pics except the lake were taken with a Nikon 55-200mm zoom. I like it a lot but its pretty short for wildlife unless you are shooting from a bus/blind. The cow moose was shot from across a road and is blown up. I saw lots of $10k teles on this trip and a lot of Tamron 18-270 zooms. Some people are either really wealthy or very serious about photography. I could definitely have used a bigger lens but they are way too expensive for me.
