why even bother to sue? what jury in the world would say this wasnt justified?

actually i looked it up, the driver is dead, he was hit in the spinal column by one of the officer's bullets. car kept going and slammed into a phone pole

The "Jury" was a coroner's jury, which is required in any case involving an unnatural death. Unlike the movies, when you're a cop and you kill someone you are automatically put on paid administrative leave until a coroner's jury is concluded.

Considering the cop was obviously surprised (I guess he didn't pickup any bad vibes) he's lucky the perp didn't hit him, and considering the adrenaline rush he must have had I give him kudos for nailing him with a very difficult shot.

I'd have shot him too. I can only imagine the adrenaline rush from that. Heck, I got one just watching the video.

ah, so he did get hit/die. i saw the crash in the distance at the end, but couldn't find much on the outcome when i searched briefly.
