Its called user friendliness.... the average home user have no idea what IRC is and even if they did i doubt they'd be able to figure out how to use it.

Hmm...true...but I taught my little sister how to use it and she seems ok with it.

She uses mirc for full cd's but I can see your point because she does use napster more often for a single song.

mIRC's alright, but I hate waiting in queues... :(

You have to wait in queues ? I go to places like cablemp3, never have to wait and fast downloads.

I use mIRC for communicating with my fellow clan members for TFC. That is all I've every used it for. I had no idea you could download MP3's. I've been using AudioGnome instead of Napster.

Sorry for my ignorance, but will someone please explain how to download MP3's from mIRC?

I use irc for videos. Since scour went down, there hasn't been another good source for videos.

Executioner: You go into a chatroom that has people fileserving MP3's. They usually have triggers like "!Kewlmp3" or "!kickass" or "!music". Just type one of those commands and they will send you a DCC chat session. From there its kind of like a dos prompt, just copy the files you want. :)
