I just took 2 working all-in-one epson printers out for the trash.
tryed finding friends local who need a printer and not one did . i replaced both of them because. it was cheaper to buy a newer unit. then to buy the replacement ink cartages for these units.

Some of the printer manufacturers get around this by giving you starter cartridges with the printers that have 2/3 less ink.

Yeah, I have trouble justifying filling a printer with ink. My new philosophy is to just feed them cheap ink & then trash them when they start to streak.

You can always buy cheap cartridges from Amazon but it's a gamble. Sometimes they work OK and other times not so much. The cheaper ones don't seem to last as long either but then they're also considerably cheaper.

been there done that. my new units the ink cartages last about year old. my old units I was replacing them like every 2-3 months. and the oem cartages are cheaper for the new units.

Ok.. So.. I have 3 printers.. A Canon All-In-One for printing photos, a Samsung ML-2010 for printing B&W and a old Color LaserJet for printing color documents. The Canon's cartridges are expensive as all get out, but I don't use it that often so the cartridges last me around a year or so and never run out at the same time. The Samsung toner lasts about 1 year, I print a lot of B&W. The toner's cost $20 for about 5000 pages. The color LaserJet has the cartridges that came in the printer when I got it for free and it's 5 years old.. hahaha :) My recommendation to ANYBODY that prints a lot of black and white is not to waste your money on an InkJet, get a Laser printer and save some money. They're very inexpensive now.
