Why risk your job over something so small? Sure do it once to prove to yourself you can do it but don't tell anybody else how to do it.

And if they're willing to lose their job over something so petty, then what assurance do we have that they aren't reading people's emails for fun?

Stealing snacks from a private contractor = bad! we must investigate! Spending bazillions of "black budget" $$ on drug trafficking, spying in citizens, etc. = no comment.
