Yeah, I've heard about the issue with video games. Though, I suspect that the refresh issue will be trivial by the time there are no CRTs left. I always wondered how the light gun on the Nintendo worked.

I have been holding on to my old C64 1702 monitor for this exact reason... but with the price of a nice on being around 150-200 I have been thinking of selling it. The week after I sell it I will have some use for it and will kick myself and that's why I haven't done it yet.
