when did timex watch get so expensive

I remember as a kid working . we get 35 % off on a timex watch . like the highest price one in the case was maybe $30.00 before discount .
times have sure changed .

The cheapest decent looking watch is $50. I don't remember ever seeing a Timex as expensive as the one you linked. They used to make a good self winding watch years ago.
