I was told years ago by a city manager for a neighboring town, that single stream recycling is a joke, around here anyway. 95% of it gets burned or buried. The reason burning is acceptable is because they are fairly clean incinerators, and the heat generated is used to generate electricity.
I was already aware of the fraud of plastic recycling from the excellent Frontline episode 'Plastic Wars', but that's a deep dive. This video is shorter and cuts right to the chase, and this guy is entertaining to watch. If you do want the deeper dive, the Frontline documentary is available free on Youtube here: https://youtu.be/-dk3NOEgX7o

Christians warn us about the anti-christ for 2,000 years, and when he shows up, they buy a bible from him.

Recycling is an Actual Scam except for metal's and some paper products. most ends up in the landfill. at a manufacture stand point it more cost efficient. to start with new raw materials then melt down or clean used .sadly even in states were they have bottle return . most of the products end up in land fills . just the general public don't see it happen . there is a upcharge in the products retail price .the deposit charge is just a wash . but schools or other originations. see the extra change for those bottle that never make it back for refund .
