Lost Titanic submersible was controlled with a $35 Logitech game controller

Go to the 40 second mark for the WTF moment.

I mean, sure, that thing looks perfectly capable of taking you to a depth of 2.4 miles. What could go wrong? It has Bluetooth!

Well the news is out: they died before getting to the wreckage. At least they died by implosion than running out of air which I would think would be very quick.
Maybe that $35 Logitech controller had something to do with the implosion?

I'm curious if it was the port hole that failed.

Yeah I heard that today on the news. There was a whistleblower who was fired because he said the port hole would not stand the pressure at those depths.

Interesting interview with Bob Ballard and James Cameron. Cameron suspects it was the carbon fiber hull that failed:

Leaked Titan Sub Transcript

If that transcript is correct, they had nineteen minutes to fear for your life. Hearing cracking/compression sounds at 3,000 meters, you know it's your last day. That means they agonized before it imploded.

No reputable sites can confirm it. I say hoax.

You know the rules! If it's on the Internet, then it must be true! How dare you cast doubt on that!

Interesting backstory here...
