i crashed
had to reformat my kid my or my not of been the prob . but she was downloading napster files right to my c-drive
like 700 or so mp3s
so it was easyer to reformat then clean the junk ! now i have to reload a bunch of programs im not to happy with her right now

and most of my address
and mail list !

sounds like some one forgot to save their icq data files ...
just through that in your icq folder after a reinstall and boOM you have all your contacts there

Wouldn't it have just been easier to use the Find applet to search for all MP3 files (i.e., Win+F, search for *.mp3) than to format the HDD?

I've formatted twice in the last two years. I made an image of my base install. I imaged after got everything else installed too. If I ever go down, I just do a complete restore.
Norton Ghost makes everything so much easier.
