Would people mind looking at my portfolio and making suggestions? Those little 5cm discs cost a pretty penny, so I want to get it right the first time :)

The link works. It's in macromedia shockwave, so you need the player, although it should've prompted you to download it.

C'mon people! Is it really that bad?

Took a bit of a wait (about 30 to 1 min on cable) but once loaded, looked damn good to me! Looked round in it and no problems. Nicly done.
BTW did you really write those programs you show on there?

I'd say you have a darn good future.. :)

Hehe thanks koo koo. My portfolio is completely honest.

Actually the best program I've written can't go in cause it's for bad stuff.

You still rule d_b :)

IMHO, you should have any page that opens to open in a NEW window, because if you click back after viewing a "sample" or "active link" then you start over at the beginning (somewhat annoying).

Otherwise it seems to run well.

BTW: on a side note, when you go to your web page and click on the "crappy" version, it tries to link to a non-existant page.

Not really much creativity to it. Its like a basic desktop with folder layout, bland. If you are wanting to get peoples attention, you need something with more creative flare. Something that catches their eyes and makes them think you have what it takes. Why use flash if you aren't going to have movement, intro, text effects, cool buttons?

1. Also your minimize and close buttons dont work.

2. Images must be too high rez, it takes too long to load for the content it has.

3. The sample flash intros should open in a new window. They take over your current flash and you have to load your flash app everytime. You'll need to seperate the different files onto folders and have flash "goto URL" when it wants to open those pages in a "_blank" html page.

4. Also need an intro. You need something to introduce yourself and what you can do.

There are probably some other things, but i'm too lazy to keep typing. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I'll definately look over those things.

Keep in mind though that it runs mainly on a CD-ROM right now, where the min/close buttons work, and the links open in your browser.

I guess I made it very plain because the content is supposed to show my stuff. The portfolio itself should be quick and dirty. I was thinking I'd make little circuit box with a lever that turned on sound/visual effects.

d_b - you rule no matter what :)

Kakarot - when I run the world, I'll build you a house from $1 thousand doller bills :D
