Nissan's Ad song???

Post by FMZ »

I m looking for the name of the song, which appeared in the Nissan Maxima ad. The ad is kinda animated, showing sun is slowly coming out. The driver then drives the car at very fast speed until the sun is almost overhead. It used to air about 4 months ago.

Thanks

I remeber the commerical, but I can't remember how the song goes. Perhaps if you hum it will help ;)

uh....it sounds like the theme song to 'I dream of Jeanie', but a little more like someone 'half-humming/half-singing' it.

da da da da da da da......damn, you have the song stuck in my head now....oh no!

Hey Stacey

How long have you been taping comericals?? I have been looking for a cherry coke comercial ever since I forgot to tape it before it stopped airing......that was a couple years ago

The commercial is the one where the guy is riding an Ostrich thru a department store.

I was just wondering if u happened to have maybe taped it :)

Song is called Tom's Diner by Suzanne Vega, the version on the Nissan commercial is a remix by a group duo called DNA.

ARTIST: Suzanne Vega
TITLE: Tom's Diner

I am sitting in the morning
At the diner on the corner
I am waiting at the counter
For the man to pour the coffee

And he fills it only halfway
And before I even argue
He is looking out the window
At somebody coming in

"It is always nice to see you"
Says the man behind the counter
To the woman who has come in
She is shaking her umbrella

And I look the other way
As they are kissing their hellos
I'm pretending not to see them
Instead I pour the milk

I open up the paper
There's a story of an actor
Who had died while he was drinking
It was no one I had heard of

And I'm turning to the horoscope
And looking for the funnies
When I'm feeling someone watching me
And so I raise my head

There's a woman on the outside
Looking inside, does she see me?
No she does not really see me
Cause she sees her own reflection

And I'm trying not to notice
That she's hitching up her skirt
And while she's straightening her stockings
Her hair is getting wet

Oh, this rain, it will continue
Through the morning as I'm listening
To the bells of the cathedral
I am thinking of your voice

And of the midnight picnic once upon a time
Before the rain began

I finish up my coffee
It's time to catch the train

Hey Peacekeeper, unfortunately...although I've been taping commercials for the past 8yrs, I just realized why this one (Nissan) is not familiar to me....and why neither is yours....I'm in CANADA...we get different commercials in many cases. I have a 6hr tape (almost full) and about 75 VHS tapes kicking around that I still have to 'go thru' to find good commercials....but we don't even have Cherry Coke up here (least not that I know of....I hate shopping)....sorry I can't help. :(

Dan (Peacekeepr) is in Kingston right now. He's a pal from highschool, and we both go to U of Ottawa.

Cherry coke was really big here a couple years ago. They had a series of commercials and all of them were funny, but the ostrich and the funky music just made us all split our lids :P

We'll keep looking I guess.

Thanks anyways Stacy, if you ever get a chance to see it, you will see why me and Matt want it :) ) It is sooo funny and the funky music in the background just makes it kick ass :P

So the search continues :P

The people at coke never responded to my email about it :( I asked them how I would go about getting a copy of it and that was like 6 months ago and I didnt get a response so it is almost time to send another one :P

One of our friends actually emailed Coke and asked if he could ride the Ostrich in their next commerical and they wrote back that they only hire people from within the area of the company :) ) Was my friend ever mad, he really wanted to ride the Ostrich :P
