What image viewer do you use?

I currently use PolyView, but I think its the source of some memory problems I've been having lately. I would like a program that has buttons to move through a directory (so if I'm viewing a bunch of picutres I don't have to go file->open every time), and one that creates animated gifs. A slide show and full screen view mode would be nice too. And it must do all this stuff free because I am cheap.

Any suggestions?

I usually use thumbsplus and then picture it to edit and print. If I open and close either a couple of times it's just a matter of time before memory runs too low and a reboot is necessary. Recently I just started using acdsee and it doesn't use near as much memory as thumbsplus, but it also doesn't have the features either. But either thumbsplus or acdsee are easy to view pics and has slide shows or you can just hit the space bar to move through them once made full screen. But they're not free.
Check download.com for image viewers and gif makers, I'm sure there's many there and some free. Best animated gif maker is psp, but it's not free either, hehe.

I've been using ACDSee since it first came out and it still does the job well for me.

I don't know if <a href="

I'm just using the image viewer that is in WinME, it has thumbnail preview, zooming and everything. I know W2k have the same feature. So what I wonder is if it's worth downloading ACDSee?
I haven't tried it myself and it would be good to know if it's worth it before d/l'ing.
For graphics creation I use Macromedia Fireworks 4, Photoshop 6, PSP 7 and FLASH 5.
