Yet another one I've got on dvd.
I truly enjoyed it.
I wouldn't rate it up there with Hunt for Red October or Das Boot, but still, very much a fun watchable flick.
I really like the underwater battle footage, that rocks!
Saw a show on either A&E or History channel last week, where they had an old american and nazi submariner, and they talked about what the underwater warfare was really like and then how did U-571 stack up as far as "real" or "hollywood".
Both agreed that it was mostly hollywood and explained why.
Interesting little show.
Every now an then, the history channel has a special on U boats that I usually try to catch.
I can't get enough. hehe

I saw the first 30 minutes 3 times and the whole movie once. When I finally got to see the whole movie I enjoyed it quite a bit. I also enjoyed the under water battle footage!
