Oh hell yeah, I'm gonna go see it.

BTW: Just google "where can I see 2001 a space odyssey in imax" and it'll show you dates and times for the Imax theater closest to you:

I remember seeing it as an 8 year old child with my father and being blown away. This movie and 'Andromeda Strain' led to my fascination with science and science fiction.

Saw it today. The sound is incredible. I spent a lot of time looking at the detail. One new one I discovered was the women eating from the tray, he was wearing ear buds with a cord that ran down her side. Never noticed that before, but then again, I've only seen it on crappy TVs. The also played the intermission, which I completely forgot about. I guess back then, moves did not go for 2.5+ hours in length.

Movies over 2 hrs back then generally had an intermission. I remember an intermission when we saw the Towering Inferno.

Hoping to see it tomorrow.
