The Story of VFX, Amiga and Babylon 5
Christians warn us about the anti-christ for 2,000 years, and when he shows up, they buy a bible from him.

Video is mostly accurate, but why did they use the iffy txt to speech engine to narrate it? Very distracting.

I miss my old Amiga. I had the 2000 with a Video Toaster as well. Damn it was pricey with that VT added.
Re: The Story of VFX, Amiga and Babylon 5
It was the VT, and if you wanted to actually switch, a TBC per channel. Oh, want to do rendering? better get a CPU accelerator cause the stock 68000 isnt going to do much for you there. Probably need another HD or 2 and some more RAM while your at it.
Still, it was a hell of a lot of power for the price. in the days of 3D switchers costing 100K+, to build out a Toaster system for 15K or so was a bargain.

The company I worked for in the early 90s used an Amiga with a Video Toaster to do all their video editing on site at the race tracks. That machine was a workhorse for it's time. A comparable commercial editing system would have been much more expensive, and used a lot more space (space was at a premium because the editing room was squeezed into the back of a trailer that we used as a control room).
