Only celebrity I've an interest in is ice skater Johnny Weir.
With Tom and Erin having been fired, and Tyra Banks now hosting, I'm wondering how long I'll watch,,

Have you viewed the premiere yet, FP? What did you think of it?
I saw only the first hour; will view 2nd hour once they make it available on Free On Demand.
Was very strange with no audience and them playing audience soundtrack,,
I did like 2 of the dancers in the first hour that I did see :)

I was waiting to see him, but it's not On Demand yet. Ice skaters usually do really well :)

What happened to Tom and Erin? Were they too white?
I just briefly read some stuff on line, and from what I saw it looks like it's all about Tyra Banks and not the show.

Actually Tyra works rather well as host. I thought she was also good when she hosted AGT. I do miss Tom, though.

She's not just the host, they brought her on as executive producer. That fact tells me they were running out of money. Executive producers rarely have anything to do with the actual production of a show or movie except sometimes in helping guide the creative content. They are mainly the people who manage the money, arrange for funding, represent the studio, and make sure everything is running smoothly to get a show or movie done on time and within budget.

I suspect with falling ratings and covid, Tyra helped keep the studio happy, and helped keep advertisers.

The format they came up with actually works pretty well. At first I found the applause track creepy but then I thought about what it would sound like without it, and grudgingly accepted it was necessary.

Tom himself says he has no problems with Tyra taking over as host, it was just awkward that ABC didn't give him much warning before going public.

Funny I always thought he was a producer on the show, but he was only the host.

I've never particularly cared for Tyra but I think she did an ok job considering all the circumstances; but somehow, to me, anyway, she doesn't have that certain something to host DWTS. ,, I can't think of the right word,,,

Haven't caught up to this week. Last one we watched was Tiger King lady getting eliminated.

Have you watched this season's Masked Singer? They really found the right way to fake an audience. They found a way to CGI a fake audience so it looks like a regular season. They used canned audience audio but they also show cuts to a previous audience so it looks really believable.

Ok, thank you; they used to split, on demand, 2-hour shows into 2 separate 1-hour "episodes", but not anymore, and I'm not about to re-watch 100 minutes, lol(!).

I only got to see 10 mins of Masked Singer til hubby made me change the channel, lol, ( I'd never watched it before and was curious ), but I didn't even notice that!

Send hubby to the other room. Masked Singer is actually pretty damn good. My only problem is that when the singer is a rapper, I don't know who the hell they are unless it's one of the 3 or 4 rappers I actually know or listen to. Even when they tell me their names I have no idea who they are.

But there have been some amazing surprises. Half the fun is trying to guess who they might be.

Don't reckon I can do that,, I usually have the run of the tv and the poor guy already sits through my Housewives shows, lol :) .
I'm sure I can catch Masked Singer on demand eventually :)
,,, now I have to look up who was eliminated on DWTS, since it's on again tomorrow; missed the last few scores, too.

Haven't caught up yet, and desperately trying to avoid reading about it in the news. We were busy catching up with Masked Singer.
