Im a loyal Michelin buyer .just bought a new set for the wife's car tonight . Defenders 2 rated at 80'000 miles all season . its was odd to me how some lower mileage tire would sell for a lot more money per tire . sure there some cheaper brands and alot of super cheap off brands available. but I feel there a reason those off brands are cheaper . who knows the testing they go though . sure im paying for testing and advertisement buying Michelin . then we are carrying my grandchildren in are car. im just glad this time round my car didn't call for V rated tires !
it still running me just under a grand for a set of 4 installed including tax's.
what also get ya is how there very little price difference from one store to the next . im talking all said and done maybe $5.00 per tire . after check 7 or 8 tire retailers for the same brand ,type and size .
after all the add ons and upcharges -one may start off less but in the end there the same price as the guy down the street or going to sam's ,costco ,or a major tire chain store .
if you order from a tire place online that will ship you the tires . then you need to find a place to mount them was still all in not any cheaper .
preferred brand of car tire ?

Really depends on what you're planning to do with them.
