This is a very long read but worth it and the guy is (I think) a pretty good writer and throws in some good humor. It's the worst used car horror story I've ever read.. So if your board..
<a href="http://bimmer.roadfly.org/bmw/forums/e2 ... 984">First part.</a
You'll noctice the text abruptly cuts off. (probrably exceeded the boards limit) The BBs is tough to navigate to find the remander so heres a link straight to it.. (Read the first, come back here. and click the second)
<a href="http://bimmer.roadfly.org/bmw/forums/e2 ... =1">Second part.</a
The story ends with $12k sovieners. The pics weren't showing last I was there but isn't much.. Some food treats he brought back sitting on a picnic table!
So far it seems he' stuck waiting for the horrid mess to get sorted out by the authoritys.
Could this happen to you? I gotta be honest and say yes, I'm far to trusting.
I'd hate to be this guy..

*shivers*
Oh my god...that is THE WORST horror story EVER. DAMN, I hope he gets all his money back + expenses AND that that loser loses his job. Soooo sad....

I've bookmarked a few sites out of, I'm sure MANY' that are following this story. Seems it's gone worldwide from what I can tell from the incerdible amount of responses from the peeps at the roadfly board.
Others like you (Pugs) and me were wondering "So what happened"..
The last thing I read from him on that board for an answer is.. Beemrmax (screename) real name Keith, is somthing along the words of "no thats it.. If something going to happen I wish it would happen a little faster"
LOL.. Sad thing that this could take years to get settled.. Wish this was a book with an ending, but this this story is in realtime..
If I find out more I'll certainly post it here.

For a guy who claims to know so much about cars (even claiming to have once been an ASE Master tech), he was a fool to not use Carfax at the very beginning and only $20 too.
Buying any used car is a total "buyer beware" type thing where the buyer had better know his stuff BEFORE buying. His second major error was to not take that car to a BMW dealer BEFORE buying it as they would have saved his ass then too.
Where I work, we occasionally get people bringing us used cars for safety inspections (BEFORE they buy) and often we'll find that the cars have more problems than what the people want to deal with in a used car so doing that can save ALOT of hassles. I've also seen cars that were made from 2 halves of other cars (not good).
That story had all sorts of "red flags" regarding the sellers stories, like his owning it for only 3 months and not having the title signed in his name, paint issues, etc. The guy also should have at least driven a good M3 before looking at one out of state as he'd then have something to compare it too.
If a seller of a used car won't let you take the car to a dealer or other shop to be inspected first, walk away from buying it.

Yeah, I agree with EH, he made some major mistakes. I passed the story on to my dad, and he believeed Keith made some huge errors as well. I think he was just blinded by the THOUGHT of owning a nice E30 BMW M3. I think a huge part of him WANTED to car to be his, so he tried to overlook the minor things (thinking, normal people wouldn't see this) which then caused him to overlook the major things. Had he dug a bit deeper in his viewing, he probably would have noticed all the things wrong with it that he noticed when he was about to leave town.
