All i gotta say is WOW! I ain't one for Japanese cars but that thing is damn nice. Was black and had a nice stealth look going on. Had the real nice Recaro seats that i'd like to put in my VW. I should go down and test drive one just so i can say i have driven one :D

There's a 22 yr old parts guy at work who bought one (Evo 8), it's blue. It's kinda neat but is too "ricey" and youthfull looking for an old guy like me. I don't care for its huge wing either. To me, it looks alot like an overgrown matchbox car but that's my opinion. I'm not fond of the Subby WRX look either (huge wing, weird scoop on hood). He still lives at home so all his money goes into toys like that and oh, can you say "over 4$K per year in auto insurance"? OUCH!!!
One of the advantages of being old is cheap auto insurance, $800 per year for full coverage, 2 old cars including a 400HP 'stang :)

thats the only thing i don't really like about it is the wing. But the rest of the car is damn sexy if you ask me :D

I honestly think they look like crap. I actually think that all new cars look like crap. I think that you have to go back to like a 70's ish Chevelle or Nova or GTO before you actually get into cars that look good. But that's really just my opinion though. As far as newer cars go, the most recent firebird looks pretty nice, but the newest camero's look like crap. Mustang Cobra's and some GT's are quite nice looking as well.

The Wing is Rally inspired :D

And personally I think its one of the best Japanese imports America has received from Japan. Taking into consideration, we don't get the skyline, no RX7 since 97', no honda Type R, just to name a few. The only thing that bugs me is the nerfing, of the car. America looses a whole gear, about 10 horse power, and some small creature comforts. IMO this is probably the worst looking lan-evo in existence but thats me, and yeah i guess the WRX is a better looking car, but if i recall C&D said the lan-evo was better overall?

Yep, C&D did rate the Evo better as I have that copy and get that mag sent here even though I never subscribed (or paid) for it.
To me, it just doesn't look "sexy" compared to many other smaller cars that aren't quick. The car does have many interesting features, pretty much needs no more mods YET guys are still wanting it faster. The guy I work with is already planning to up the boost to 23psi, tryed a fuel management device that he said would add 30hp yet didn't work right as he sold it to another Mitsu guy at work (didn't help him either). I'm wondering when he'll try nitrous and blow it up ;)

I like the WRX STi better myself. Minus the gay wing... Now if only VW would crank up the 2004 R32 GTi to 300hp that would be my choice for a rally car :D

The car has way too much boost as it is 19 psi for boost presure. Thats so much for stock car specs. I think the STi has half that. IMO i think Mitsu is pushing this block too much. The older Lan-Evos are much better!

19 psi of boost isn't a lot if the motor was designed for it. Most stock cars are 12-15 psi and are only pushing 200 hp if that. you just don't lay boost to a motor without designing the rest of it for that amount of boost which i'm sure they did.

I can't remember what they do to the Lancer block, as far as alterations.
