it piss me off when you see people holding up traffic /me in the far left lane .and you have to drive into the right lane to get around there slow ass !
the Last time I was Talking to myself . I got into such a heated argument . that is why I swore I never talk to that guy again. you know what it worked now no buddy talking to me.
If he was doing the speed limit then he was doing nothing wrong. I allways get into the "fast lane" and do the speed limit. even tho the other 4 lanes are doing well over 10 over.
Hell one time we all have CBs and got into all the lanes and would not let any one pass unless they used the shoulder. And some did. We even were doing 5 over when we did it. only lasted about 2 minuets but the cars that piled up behind us was amazing.

Although the left lane is suppose to be the "fast lane", most of the old signs that use to say "slower traffic keep right" are gone now around here. I also doubt that they tell you that in drivers ed these days, they use to when I was 15 (40 yrs ago).
If I'm in the left lane, I'm either following traffic that's usually going faster than the right lane(s) or I'm exceeding the speed limit because I usually don't like driving at the posted speed limit.
If I'm in the left lane with no one in front of me and someone behind me is coming up fast (going faster than me), I move over because it's the polite thing to do and many others do the same thing for me.
Intentionally pissing off other drivers should never be a goal, no matter what.
As for the video, technically that cop had no legal reason to do that and I doubt that the driver had a clue why the cop did what he did. He/she probably thought that they did something wrong and when the cop sped off, probably thought that the cop had a more important call instead.

i think it's a funny video, but it is also full of hypocracy. can i tailgate people like that? i know someone that was killed by a tailgater, so it kind of pisses me off. the cop did nothing more than road rage by "punishing" another driver. sure, it's good for a chuckle on youtube, but that driver should have brake checked the cop and sued his ass when the cop slammed into him by following too close. good luck in court when the cop had no reason to violate multiple traffic laws just to prove a point.
i know it's not reality, but there is a speed LIMIT in most places and the speed MINIMUM is less than whatever that guy was going (based on the speed of other cars around him). the only speed minimum i've seen is 45MPH on a 65MPH zone. that might not be so everywhere, but the video is ridiculous. if the cop saw someone else do what they did, they would ticket them.

Agreed! One of my pet peeves too and was behind one of those tonight. Far easier to merge from a higher speed that if you're 20mph below the speed of freeway traffic. That too was something we were taught in drivers ed, way back when. Also the slow pokes coming off a ramp.. Floor the fvcker and blend in! In you can't, then buy a car with some balls or stay off the freeway!
As for the cop in that vid, sure it's funny to some of us but I'd bet that what he did wasn't legal and if that vid ends up being seen by his superiors, I think he'll be in deep S***

There is no such thing as a "Fast Lane" All lanes have the same speed LIMIT.
LIMIT is a key word. It does not mean you have to travel the limit, only that it is the maximul allowable speed. Some places have a minimum speed as mentioned above.
The good ole role of slower traffic keep right is not a law and is meant for slower traffic, not to allow speeders the right to go by.
I love driving in the left lane at the speed limit, especially when it makes speeders mad. I consider it as keeping a speeder under control and thus possibly keeping them from getting a ticket or even worse causing an accident. After all, speed is the number one cause of accidents. (quickly becoming number two to distracted driving). But then again as dad always said, there are no accidents, someone is always at fault. .
Back to the cop, he is a jerk and breaking the law by following too close. Thus causing a risk to other drivers and doing it a tax funded vehicle.
Yes, the video is funny.

Well, it is called the "fast lane" by most and has been for all of my life. I also don't believe that anyone has the right to decide that they are going to decide if others should or shouldn't exceed the posted limit unless you're a traffic cop and being paid to do that. Otherwise, if I choose to go faster by 5, 10 or whatever mph, that's my business and as far as safety is concerned, I've never caused an accident in my 40 yrs of driving.

That's all good and fine.. but when you are out on the public road and MY safety is at risk I would like you to also be safe.
I will agree on the merging think. lots of junkers that should not even be on the road let alone 80/94.

I've never endangered anyones safety by my driving. My cars are maintained, I'm not driving like an obnoxious fool and I don't tailgate either. That's all good and fine.. but when you are out on the public road and MY safety is at risk I would like you to also be safe.
Those who think they like being "in control" of the road, what do you do with the crotch rockets that race by at over 90mph and go in between cars? Move over to block them, see what happens next?

The signs "slower traffic keep right" and "left lane for passing only" are not optional. They are the same white and black signs that speed limit signs are made of. Cmon people, dont get your rocks off on the road trying to be in control. If your traveling the same speed as the other two lanes, then just get over. Same reason here in Austin that NO TRUCKS are allowed in the left lane. Yeah they are big and heavy and cant accel as fast as a POV so they banned them from being in the left lane. Accidents relating to large trucks have dropped 80%. I dont think that number is ironic, do you? Most accidents I see on the interstate are people switching to the far left lane and doing the speed limit or less and congesting the interstate. Its as simple as respect, you get what you give.

It is the passing lane.. but you can not exceed the speed limit to pass. Not saying I dont any more. People passing me on the right on a 5 lane highway and im in the second to the right lane doing 10 over pisses me off to no end.
