average insurance rate hike after you screw up and get a ticket .
•21 percent, if you were caught going 1 to 15 mph over the speed limit.
•28 percent, for going 16 to 30 mph over the limit.
•30 percent, for going at least 31 mph over the limit.
82 percent, Reckless driving
27 percent, Careless driving
93 percent, DUI or DWI
19 percent, Failure to stop or running red light
plus the cost of paying the ticket and court costs if any.
when your auto insurance company finds out if they don't drop you as a client. :(

Thus why I'm willing to pay the extra to have my ticket changed to a non-moving offense.

They do that here for minor traffic tickets but that's not an option in rural areas. Here, they just want their money and don't care if insurance companies find out but if you get something like an OWI, you're just screwed.
