here were Im at Wife's car ready for a new set of tires . the car a 2008 Saturn vue RX 2 front drive 88,000 mile. last time I went and bought michelin MX4 . been very happy with them . but seeing the cars 9 years old now . not sure if we be keeping it 5-6 more years . if its worth dropping $1000 into a new set of the same tires . i know for about 1/2 that i can get a set of tire .
your thoughts drop the money or downgrade to like a Firestone dueler like came on the car. we only put maybe 10 ,000 miles a year on it or less .

Go to tiredirect.com and have a look at their tires and reviews. Also look at the UTQG rating. The higher the number, the longer it should last provided you rotate them and have proper alignment. Tiredirect also has performance rankings for rain, snow, etc. to help you decide. You can then go to a local dealer and tell them what you want.

If you're planning to get rid of the car within a year or two, Mastercraft is a good budget tire. Avoid Goodyear's RS series tires. They have terrible wet traction.

Honestly, Michelin are the only tires I've ever managed to get 5 years out of.
