I saw somewhere that on the Tesla 3, there is a stalk on the steering column that turns them off and on. To control the speed, head for the touchpad. wonderful engineering!
Also, and I'm, not sure I've seen this discussed re: cars - older people have fingertips that are less likely to work "perfectly" on touch screen. scars, callous, funky old skin, diminished circulation, etc. I see this on my phone and table - any dirt on fingers or screen and may not work. Controlling a large moving object with an iffy interface. not for me.
