Digital Dashboards of the 1980s
Re: Digital Dashboards of the 1980s
Gotta admit that I love the article. It really was like they tried to take Sci-Fi and put it into dashboards.
I ran into a number of these in my stereo install days. They were a nightmare to interface with. Not to say that today is much better, but we have better support now.

During the era, I fantasized about having a Knight Rider dashboard. Now that I am older, I can see how impractical and distracting it would be. But still, cool.

I was 7 or 8 when Knight Rider was on. I loved the show then and wanted a KITT. Now I hate anything bright in a can when driving at dusk or at night. I keep all interior lights on the lowest setting I can still see.FlyingPenguin wrote:During the era, I fantasized about having a Knight Rider dashboard.
