Mercedes' Parent Company Daimler Dismantled A Rented Tesla Model X For Research

I highly doubt any insurance on this planet will cover someone taking a car apart. I hope the couple recoups their losses.
Daimler could've easily purchases a model X from a private seller and did whatever they wanted to it.
