today i stop at the gas station in the am
turn my 98 ford f-150 pickup off and go into a gas station !
come back out put the key in and start the ding truck . the abs light on the dash gos on and the shifter wont go out of park :(
im dumb founded so i turn it off and start it back up !same thing so im sitting there think its going to cost me $40-$50 bucks to have it towed to a trans shop :(
plus a massive repair bill ! lucky for me i know transman so i call terry on my cell phone and he says it might be a fuse or a relay ! so i have to take the dash panel off & fuse cover off ,open the owner manual and start reading the fuse panel page ,well i pull every fuss that is listed to do with the abs system well there all good :( so i start pulling fuses :( :( :( :( :( :( :(
there one left to pull and its a long shot :) ! well thats what it was a blown 15 amp fuse !so i go in the station and buy a pack of fuse asst.$2.78 later it has one fuse in the pack that is 15 amp !im off and running :) great!
so i stop at a auto parts store and buy a 5 pack of 15 amp fuses $3.88 just in case :)
i think a auto parts store would sell them for less not more then a gas station for car parts whats up with this :( !
anyways
im wonder two things here ?
what would happen if that fuse would blow as your going down the road ? this gould be really bad :( :( :(
and who the flicken ahole was that came up with this bright idea :(
and just got to thank you to transman !

while in drive, i doubt it would lock up the tranny and freeze you solid, you'd just lose ABS. In the Blackbird if you do alot of hard cornering you can pinch off the ABS return line, wich causes an ABS Inop signal to go to the puter and then your ABS is disabled, your brakes still work, but you will lock em up, just ask basterb, happened to him and i in the city.

good luck!

Actually ALL cars these days now have shifter interlocks AND have problems with them as well, NOT just Ford.

That all started in the 80s when some people made claims that their cars "took off all by itself" trying to sue manufacturers like Audi (for example). The problem with Audi was really that the pedals were very close together and a person with wide shoes could accidentally get ones foot stuck under the brake pedal. That and those who do things like make up ficticious BS trying to get out of car payments when the reality sinks home (happens) have added to many of todays rediculous "safety" devices added to new cars to keep everyone safe and happy.

There's many good reasons why I own/drive older cars :)

thats why you rip that crap out and make your car run the way you want it to run it :)
