some general rules of thumb for cheap shipping is to use a box that is just the right size, marking it as a gift and declaring it's value at under 50$ usually helps too, if done right, shipping is ok!

Thanks Reg Kmet,

I think this is in response to the Mobo that I just bought off of him. And since this is only my second purchase I still have no clue as to how this all works. Aren't Borders Fun!?!

PS First purchase is still being mauled by UPS

Oooooh, better watch out.

If you want high traceability, use UPS, but beware they are known to suck people of their juices in brokerage fees most of the time. I'm speaking from experience as I've many encounters with them.

Use UPS if you plan on having it shipped before Christmas.

Otherwise I'd recommend plain old vanilla USPS regular air parcel. Its economically efficient and gets the job done, bypassing brokerage fees MOST of the time if its packaged right...meaning its value in proportion to the box's size and the method and cost of shipment.

Just my $0.02 :)
