Awesome dually PIII system for sale...

Post by IgoByte »

As the title states, I've got a very nice dually PIII rig that I unfortunatelly need to sell... :(

Before I say anything about the computer, let me just say that if you have any further questions or would like to discuss any further details you can reach me at berneb@earthlink.net.

I have references under IgoByte on heatware and under Iggie581 on eGay. I accept only money orders for payment, especially in the case of something like this.

Pictures available upon request but will take a little time...

And, at last, here's the rig:

- Antec SX840: brand new case, original 400W PSU, white
- MSI dual socket 370 mobo with on-board Promise ATA100 RAID (since MSI always codes their mobos, I'm not certain right this very moment which mobo it is exactly, but I can always check).
- Dual PIII1000EB (these are genuine 1Ghz chips, never overclocked, 133Mhz FSB)
- 2 x Vantec CCK-6035D copper heatsink with stock fan
- 2 x 256MB Kingston PC133 SDRAM
- Matrox G450 DualHead with 32MB DDR SDRAM
- 1 x 18GB 10K RPM U160 IBM SCSI HDD / 1 x 18GB 10K RPM U160 Seagate SCSI HDD
- 2 x 40GB IBM 60GXP in RAID 0
- Adaptec 29160 PCI U160 SCSI controller
- Netgear 10/100 NIC
- SB Live Value
- Floppy drive
- 100MB ATAPI Zip drive
- 72x TrueX Kenwood CD-Rom drive
- Two additional fans installed in case, both low-noise 8cm panaflos.

The system is in MINT condition, and my asking price is $2300 shipped.

Please either post here or email me if interested.

Awesome?? You only call this rig awesome??? I think something along the lines of "Ungodly Powerful" is closer to being an appropriate term than simply "Awesome" :tongue

Seriously, that's a beast of a rig. It'd take an AthlonMP system to beat that machine for speed :) And at that price, I think this is a better deal ;) Free bump, I guess, because the check I'm getting this week is only $1900 :(
After 10pm, I'm like a werewolf, except I become stupid and incoherent instead of hairy and mean.

:; Damn. That is a NICE system. If only I were rich and needed a new rig. ;)

Sure.

This is actually an office machine, it's not exactly mine, but I was the one who made it etc. It was one of the two really big machines we had, but we're downsizing and unfortunatelly won't have a need for this one anymore.

Most of our computers are actually pretty new ThunderBird based systems, as I realized that they are cheaper and perform better than single PIII or PIV systems. They are simple, only have a single IBM 60GXP HDD, but they are decent systems in that they all have good mobos and at least a 1.2Ghz CPU.

The other big system is actually slightly nicer than this one.

- Lian-Li PC70
- ABIT VP6
- 2 x PIII1000EB (same as this one), with two Alphas (I like these copper sinks better)
- 4 x 256MB IBM PC133 SDRAM
- Quadro 2 Pro 64MB DDR
- 4 x 60GB IBM 60GXP in RAID 1
- Promise FastTrak 100 PCI
- 2 x 18GB X15s
- Adaptec 29160
- Plex 12/10/32A
- AOpen 16x Slot-Loading DVD
- 250MB ATAPI ZIP
- Floppy
- SONY F500 21" (what used to be their flagship 21" monitor)

That's about all that comes to mind...I also made this sucker, and it works very well. We use it as our office server now, because of the huge amount of directly backed up storage.

And my personal main system right now:

- Lian-Li PC70
- 431W Enermax PSU
- MSI K7 Master
- 1.4Ghz Thunderbird (it overclocks very well, but I keep it stock)
- Thermaltake copper heatsink with ultra quiet 19cfm fan
- 2 x 256MB PC2100 Crucial
- 4 x 40GB IBM 60GXP in RAID 0
- Promise FastTrak 100 PCI- GF2 Ultra by Elsa
- TDK 16/10/40
- Pioneer 16x tray-load DVD
- Live Drive 2 IR
- SB Live 5.1 Platinum
- 250MB Zip
- Floppy
- SONY FW900 24" monitor

And whatever else goes into a system. . .What I want to do eventually is go dual AMD on this system. As soon as the mobos improve a little and get cheaper and they have 1.5Ghz chips out, I'll bite... :E
