Anybody want $5 PDAs for Christmas Gifts? 15 left!!!!

Post by Glendor »

I have about 15 left of the Casio Data Bank DC-8500 organizers that were leftover corporate gifts (i.e.: "take them or we will have to throw them away") from a couple of years ago. The batteries are dead, but when replaced, the Data Bank works fine. They take two nickel sized watch/pda batteries that can be found an any Walmart or grocery store (battery number is 2032) for about $2 each. They have a nickle-sized "Star & T" corporate logo on the upper right corner of the flip down cover, and they are in gift boxes, with gold stretchy-cord as decoration. I'm thinking they might make good Christmas gifts for teens or distant family members. I've used one for about a month, and though there is very little danger that it will replace my iPAQ, it would be a fun toy for somebody who is still using a pen/paper dayrunner.

I'm thinking that $5 shipped each would be a fair price to cover my time, shipping, and handling. This isn't a great picture, but at least you can see what the buttons and screen look like. Casio Data Bank DC-8500
The inside of the flip-up cover has "shortcut instructions" for the most common functions.

I've had some questions about "what can it do?" I'm not going to go into too much detail here because a lot of this is self explanitory. I'm not trying to be vague, but come on, this is a $5 electonic address book / calander / calculator / organizer / thingy ;)

Here goes:
Timekeeping Function (home time, world time, alarm)
Telephone Directory
Schedule Keeper
Memo
To Do
Calculator
Secret Memory Area (password protected area that mirrors normal memory functions listed above)
Backlight

Payment Options: PayPal is prefered, but money orders, and trades are accepted.

References: I have HeatWare and eBay references (all positive) under the name "glendor"

Things I'm looking for in trade:
Alpha PEP66t HSF (the SocketA cooler with the fan on the side)
Small amount of Arctic Silver II (enough for 5 cpus)

300w Athlon approved ATX power supply
2 or 3 6GB-10GB 7200 rpm ATA100 harddrives

Okay, I've shipped Organizers to everybody who has paid, and I have the correct number set aside for the people who "have a check in the mail". It looks like I'm down to my last 15!
