Sounds like this thing is slowly being resolved, glad to hear it. Let just keep this thing up there so that no one forgets. I hope I see my system next week!!!!

Hey. I've not chimmed in on this one at all until now, but I saw Red's post about getting into this stuff by buying from established traders. I just want to say "ditto" in a big way to what Red is saying. My first deals back on the old AGN were with guys like Todd (Vidman II), Tom (RacerX), and Mike (Red)--people who had clearly been around a while and who'd established themselves as trustworthy and reputable... and this was in the pre-Heatware days. Newbies who are reading this: before you jump into hardware trading online, in addition to looking at heatware evals, watch the boards for a couple of weeks and see who's respected. That's what I did, and it was one of the smartest moves I've made.
Hello. My name is Lawton, and I am a hardware addict. <a href="http://heatware.elitehardware.com/view.shtml?action=list&option=lawton">Heatware Evals! </a>

Heard from Bio this morning in an email stating my MO was already sent last friday. I'll let you peeps know how it goes...

Lawton, I totally agree. For new members, its better to take a wait and see attitude and assess the environment before jumping into anything. Know who the regulars are.

This is all well and good, but even if we followed those cases we would still be where we are now. Bio, at the time had a good heatware rating, constant poster, and an overall good reputation. That's what makes this situation so bad. As far as I could tell, I took most of the precautions necessary to conplete the trade and I got burned, it's the risk with online trading, but I'll have to agree with wvjohn when I say that I will be very weary of buying another system off of an online trader. I also now have a very low respect for heatware, not that it's their fault, or even the PCA mods fault that I got burned. This is one of those situations where it got ugly, although it could have gotten worse, by a long shot. I thank wvjohn, blade, 1am4u2nv, the various pcamod's, and everyone else who has helped. The situation sucks, and I'm not sure this situation could have been avoided(even with GCS piping up!). Hopefully I will get my system this week and everything will be resolved, I will leave my heatware at that point and I will go from there.

That feels better....thanks for listening to my babbling :)

Ahhhhhhh Lawton. Thanx for the plug. The good old days of "Russian roulette" trading, without heatware etc., were certainly an adventure. Hell, I could be in a flamewar with RED at night and be buying something off if him the next morning! LOL........NOW that was some fun times. Just seein' RED blow his own horn in here, as right as he prolly is, has me laughin' me arse off !........Nexus_7 : "toot toot" :lol

I don't do much tradin' these days as I'm pretty busy w/ school, work, family yada yada.......but I miss tryin' to get to the post office on a rainy day with an arm around several packages and a fistfull delivery conf's just to make sure I got them out on time because the people I traded with deserved that kind of effort. Don't get me wrong, I've been late on a deal or two along the way, just like we all have been. But when I see these types of threads, it saddens me. Especially when someone like BIO is involved, because he KNOWS better and KNOWS he fubar'd a few peeps here. I hope Scott gives ya one upside the old noggin next time before you get in over head!

.........end of sentimental nostalgia and unsolicited castigation. :)

I'll never stop trading online. There are just too many good traders in addition to too many LOUSY online vendors.

An update to my earlier concerns. Wolfman35 is alive, but I won't swear to how WELL he is. ;) I just got off the phone (he answered!!).

Seems the old Diablo II has gotten hold of him. Told me that he's been spending ALL his time playing that game. Lord, please don't ever let me get a copy of that demon game!

Made me think of the fellow that was selling PCs online (what was that place?) that posted on his site how sorry he was about neglecting his business and not taking care of his customers. His excuse? --- DIABLO II .
