Just to test the water here.

I'm looking for a lite-On or Iomega 12x burner with burnproof.

The lite-On CD-RW is sold on newegg.com for $87 with software, so i'm looking for something cheaper. I'm not quite sure anyone would be willing to part with such a drive for anything cheaper, and so i'll probably get the Newegg.com deal... but who knows?

stay AWAY from the lite-on ones, trust me, i do purchasing for a mid size computer store here in sacramento, i'm also lead technician, do NOT give yourself the headache, spend the extra cash and get a iomega.

these are NOT oem plextors, they just licensed the burn proof name, I have 3 dead ones sitting here in my office, lite-on is all but unresponsive in trying to RMA these.

sorry, i made the wrong account, the MOD already knows. Now back to the good stuff...

Lite-On suck??? All I hear were good reviews about them... how strange!
And all their burners work with BlindWrite too...aww

Can someone else confirm or deny that Lite-On sucks?

Thanks for the offer guys, but I've got a few dead HPs sitting around and a lot of costers, so now i'm afraid of HP burners.
