Help what to do with this trade

Post by CaterpillarAssassin »

I'm in a trade with this guy (who will remain nameless for now) and he was supposed to ship the system last week. Its the end of this week and no tracking number. No response at all from him either. We had made the agreement that when he gave me the UPS tracking number and it tracked OK then I would send payment. Well its been over a week and I'm wondering what I should do? Should I wait it out or nix the deal?

I'd say screw him and find another system... I'd be pissed.

Well, I won't vote yet because I don't think either option fits my opinion :p I think you should e-mail him and tell him he has 48 hours to give you a valid tracking number, or the deal's off. It's been plenty long for him to ship.

If you haven't paid the guy yet (I assume you haven't...) then I'd say forget it and move on....

I would send him an email and tell him you are going to find another system . You have waited long enough with no contact . But I would be sure and email him telling him so he don't just send it . If he does not check him email and just sends it without notifying you (with the tracking #) , he has not done what he had agreed upon and I would request him to pay the return shipping . Just my .05 (inflation) ;)

Yup, just e-mail him so he won't send it after you said you don't want it. If he already sent it to you, it's his fault not for not letting you know.

Him dissapearing for this long makes me wonder, I wonder even if you get a tracking number will the actual working system be sent. If I do get a tracking number I'd wait till I can check the system out before sending him your end, and tell him this of course. He should understand that. Being late with a reply and ignoring another are things I hate. But perhaps he has a legit reason.

Cat,

I say "Fuhgedaboutit!".

Barring any major illness, accident, or family problems, this guy has proven himself to be totally irresponsible, I say thank the trading gods that you had sense enough not to send him any cash or goods, and move on Bro ;)

Or you can do what Blade said ;)

G'luck,

Ray
