Wanted: SLI cable & DVI

Post by Executioner »

I'm looking for a SLI cable. Since upgrading my rig, I have a spare 660GTX card that I'd like to put into my daughters pc. She already had one 660GTX. She's trying to play fallout 4, and has a lot of stuff turned off or on low settings. Maybe adding another 660GTX will help it somewhat. Thoughts? I have never played around with SLI, so not sure what to expect.

Also looking for a DVI cable.

Make sure your mobo supports SLI. Just because you have two x16 slots doesn't mean it does. If your mobo was SLI capable, it should have come with an SLI bridge included.

Check the manufacturer's website for the specs on your mobo.

Thanks for the tip on the SLI. Bummer - board does not support it.

Not really worth it anymore. SLI is poorly supported. It can even HURT performance in games not optimized for it.

I think she's going to need a newer card. You should be able to find a relatively cheap GTX 780 on ebay for ~$100.

Good news is that the extra card can help with the Physx.
