That's a problem most of us get from time to time. It's usually either the ram, video card or cpu. But can be the power supply or motherboard also. And are all jumpers set properly? Refer to the mobo manual for that.

First I suggest trying different ram or/and in a different slot, not being seated properly can be the problem sometimes too so do reseat the ram. Then if still no go try reseating the video card. I've had some systems where it took 4-5 reseats of the video card for it to boot, some are just plain picky. If no go then try a different video card.

Then if still no go, reseat the cpu. I assume it's a socket cpu? Usually those kinds don't need to be reseated, but I've seen one instance where it did help.

I'd try those things one at a time, that way you'll help to narrow the problem down if still no boot. Also be sure you are starting with just the basics, not all the other peripherals, just the video card.

Hope that helps. :)

If still no go, post the full system specs and we'll try.

If its the 8K3A your talking about be sure a fan is plugged into the CPU header. There's an option in the bios that is enabled by default that if a fan isn't on that Header the comp won't boot properly. So if there isn't a fan on that header put one on it long enough to go into bios and disable that. Shut down switch it back to how you have it hooked up and boot again. That option is under the bottom one to the left has the voltages and temps in it can't remember rwhat its called though.

It is the 8K3A+ and I hooked a fan to the CPU header and nothing. Like I said, I get power to all the fans. The power on LED comes on red, but the POST Debug LED doesn't. I've reseated the ram and vid card but haven't tried the cpu. Iv'e got a swiftech mcx462 hsf and they're a pain to remove. I hope it's not the cpu. I'm gonna check all my settings again and clear the cmos. I post my progress. Thanks guys!

I just tried to build my Shuttle AK35, same problem.

I see the keyboard lights flash quick once but nothing else, except the little led is lit on the system board and the fans run. I get NO beeps, No video and none of the drives trie to work,

Tried with an older AGP video card, then pulled the working ATI AIW PCI from this system. Also moved the DDR ram to several slots, then pulled the working stick form this system. I have tried with every thing but the power switch and fan disconnected also, nothing ever except the System board led and the keyboard flash, and fans run, but nothing for beeps or cmos (when trhe video was installed)

I also even took the CPU fan from this system and tried it, incase the system board had to sense a cpu fan, just to be sure the other working fan wasn't the problem, It's a temp sensing varable speed with rpm monitoring. Still no go!

I geuss I will try reseating the CPU, as I know everything works in this system I suppose it means ether a cpu reseat or P/s problem? New CPu also, don't have a spare to test that with though and really really don't want to pull the working one fro this system at all!!

Any ideas? If I can't get it working I'll try usinge the Iwll XP333, but I was wanting the Shuttle in this case and saving the Iwill for someting else soon.

Thanks.

Duhhhh,

When all else fails, check the power supply! Ignore my previous post, PLEASE.

I got tired of trying to get the SHUttle Ak35 to work, so I pulled it and Installed the Iwill Xp333 instead.

Just happened to notice right before trying to boot, like when I was plugging in the black 110ac cable, that the switch for the power supplie was set for 220V! Grrrrr, I wasn't trying to use the Dryer outlet!

So anyway, The XP333 is instaled and has booted, so I know all is well. Now I have to install drives and all.

I just hope like heck I did not hurt the Shuttle AK35. Not going to take the Iwill back out, at least for now, But the Shuttle is what I wanted in this case. Was going to get a specail case for the Iwill. Oh well,
It happens.

I normally check those swtches too! Geuss I slipped this time. Only time one was wrong on me so far too. Figures, the only time you don't look!

P.s.
does anyone know how to get to bestbyte? I tried bestbyte.com and got a BUNCH of garbage and popups, not the correct URL that I used! Wasnted to check out the store for a couple things.

Cool, glad you found the problem. :) Sometimes the most thing simple confounds us the most. I doubt it hurt the mobo though.

Is this it?

I went through everything. Changed out all the pieces and tried them seperately in my other comp. Finally I called Epox and we decided it was the mobo so I RMA'd it back to Newegg. They're suppossed to send me another one this week. I'm gonna unlock my XP2100 while I'm waiting. It's got the AXOIA stepping and I should get some good numbers, I hope!!

Thanks a MILLION!

bestbyte.net is correct. And is what I was looking for for some fans and other stuff.

bestbyte.com is trash! Got a million pop-ups and don't even know what the site was about!

Thanks for the help on that, now I'll go look for something to buy.

Wraith, the same exact thing happened to my Epox 8K7A before it died..so youre correct in RMA'ing it. I RMA'd mine too, but the damn thing took a month, and then when it came back it worked for 3 days before dying again, this time with a RAM error. Needless to say, Im never buying Epox boards again. Abit and Asus 4 me :)
Welcome to the machine.
