I have a Athlon Slot A 850MHz currently on a Tyan S2380 and I want to ditch that board for something a little more reliable. (I've had nothing but problems with it) I will be giving this system to my sister-in-law so it doesn't need to be anything awesome. Just reliable, easy to setup, and not cost an arm and a leg. Any recommendations?

MSI K7 Pro w/ 110 clock generator is a nice choice. I used one for a time as part of my main system and it was one the most stable mobos I ever owned.

I'm running an Abit KA7....

I've been running an Abit KA7 ever since the board came out, and it's been very stable / reliable. My processor is an Athlon Classic (slot A) 700 MHz running at 866 MHz with an unlocked multiplier (7.5) and a FSB at 115 MHz (all reported by WCPUID version 3.0f). This board doesn't have the RAID feature, which came out later. I am using a "goldfinger" device to unlock the multiplier, and my CPU / heatsink assembly and PC-150 SDRAM came from Step Thermodynamics. I highly recommend Abit boards over Asus boards, as I had some issues with my Asus A7V / Athlon T-bird configuration before I got it stabilized. :p

Having a hard time finding many "new" boards for a Slot A. I don't want a used or remanufactured one. The only 2 I've found so far are the Gigabyte GA-71XE for about $100 and the Soyo K7VIA for about $70. I've used the Gigabyte board before in a system I built for my mom. I must say I was very happy with it. Anyone know anything about the Soyo board?

An Epox 7KXA is nice and stable. I put together two Slot A comps using the 7KXA mobo. One was a gift for my son and the other was sold. :D
