Interesting.

Guess we could use some small ram sinks, if we wanted to help cool some of those places.

I've put heatsinks on the Southbridges of both our Nforce2's. That was after seeing WV's post of the "toaster" pics. :eek:

i have heatsinks for all my sb's sitting around the nice little zalman ones, been too busy to put em on,

when get around to cranking that barton up, i'll put em on

The memory heatsinks that usually come w/ memory heat spreader kits are PERFECT for the southbridge. I've mounted one on mine using included thermal tape and the height is perfect cuz it doesn't obstruct any cards and since the heatsink is a bit wider than the chip, you get some extra surface area for cooling.

I need to get some ram sinks.. but i dont want to pay that much for somting that cost 2$ to make... all it is is a single extruded chunk of aluminum / copper that gets cut into small pieces... i can cut it myself... just sell me a 2' chunk of it!
