hello all, i got a 2500+ on a NF7-S Mobo, and i can't get it to run right at approx 200 FSB, i leave the multiplyer as it is, i think it is at 12, but anyways, it runs fine with FSB at 190ish, but i want more power, i was told i could get it running faster then a 3200+ but, i won't work, and seggestions?

What kind of ram is in the system? Have you upped the vcore any? I have a 2500 running at 12.5x180 my PC2700 just wont go over 180 FSB. You may need to slow down your ram timings as well to get the higher FSB. Last is your multiplier locked, if not try raising that.

update your BIOS to 1.7 or higher.

if your cpu is of the Locked variety, your multi will be 11x.

list your following components so we can see what they're capable of......

RAM?
Power supply?
fan/HS for cpu

assuming your PSU and RAM are adequate, you'll need to set your CPU voltage to somewhere in between 1.75v and 1.8v and your RAM to 2.65v or 2.7v

also important to make sure your case cooling is adequate as well.

Woot, another Ill'ian ;)

Yea, ram might be an issue. Maybe increasing the voltage or lowering its case or other attributes might help.

And make sure you attend the LAN http://www.pcalan.com

If you have decent cooling, then up the vcore to 1.7. Then try 11x200. ;)

Otherwise 11x190 or 195 may be the limit. And as others said, depends on what ram you have.

Welcome to pca :)

The XP2500+ has an 11 default multiplier. I have one runnng at 11x210 on and Epox 8RDA3+ rev 2.1 with 2x256megPC3200 Kingston HyperX. Extremely stable folding machine.

Not all will overclock. Though most have. 11x190 may be the limit for your cpu.

What kind of cooling do you have? You may need better cooling. Try with the side panel off and see if it's stable at 11x200 that way and in a cool room. Did you up the voltage?
