I'd reset the bios. Old setting of fsb133/166 locked and wont boot a 166/200 locked chip.
also the memory if synced to chip and are now running on a fsb they cant handle
This is assuming your mobo supports that cpu or was firmware upgraded to support it
other assumtions, ram was not changed(bank1 is not in bank2 and vice-versa),video card works in another PC

Also my ram is pc 3200 so i doubt its the syncing of the ram it should be able to handle 33 fsb

that reminds me, if you set the ram to run 3200(200mhz*2) you may have it set a % higher then the cpu fsb so if they are at 200mhz on a 133fsb bus then you drop in a 166 then they are running +33 or x% over 400ddr(3200)
try popping out the cmos battery for 10mins or choose default setup in bios and then change cpu's

might want to check the mobo website and make sure that it supports the faster cpu and also see whether you might need to flash the bios - it that is all ok, you might want to set the bios to "fail safe" or the equivalent and start from there

ok well the first time I booted it said amd 2800+ 2.08,,
then i rebooted and it went to 1.24GHz no model number..
then i put fsb 166 which gave it 1.66GHz..
Then I reset cmos and all I can get it to even on 166 fsb is 1.24 GHz....
Any ideas?

looks like it should be 12.5x166

should also run at 10x200 if the chip is unlocked

guess just double check in the bios what the multi is and what the fsb is
