Thermaltake Venus 7+ Question

Hello,

I was just given a new Thermaltake Venus 7+ CPU Cooler. I would like to use it for my AMD Athlon 3000+, sitting on a Gigabyte GA-K8NSC-939 motherboard. My question is for anyone experienced with this cooler or Thermaltake products. The cooler comes with a plastic mounting bracket (I'm guessing optional for use?). This bracket looks just like the bracket already on my motherboard with the black plastic mounting clips that the cooler's clips grab onto. I am guessing this optional bracket does not need to be used or maybe on another type of motherboard. Anyone's help or advise would be appreciated. you probably won't need the new one if the one already in there will fit your new heatsink/fan.

just keep the spare part handy in case you ever come across a board one day that needs it.
