Christians warn us about the anti-christ for 2,000 years, and when he shows up, they buy a bible from him.

See I had faith in AMD all along, I just built an AMD5200.
Top end stuff don't matter to me, I buy what's about $100. But if the war heats up again that's good as it will drive the high end stuff now down to the $100 range faster

I was so excited back then... amazing how core i7 is still whooping that ass. Also the geforce (insert number here) is still winning as well... but here's the new thing I've read up on...Pikachu wrote:not just AMD vs Intel

AMD vs Nvidia as well
Due to processor size, the smaller it gets, the longer it's shelf life to justify the smaller dies... Just hope AMD can win in guerrilla warfare!
I think AMD is doing very well currently. They are very competitive as long as you aren't going for the top tier stuff. In fact, dollar for dollar, AMD is beating Intel & Nvidia. I still heartily recommend AMD for both processor & video. However, if you're an overclocker, then stick with Intel since they build a lot of leeway into their processors.

Actually AMD has very competitive products, especially in the server space. I just bought a Quad Core AMD server from Dell for my home office, and 2 more for a client. Bang for the buck when I compared the prices I got a lot more performance from an AMD server than the equivalent Intel server.

I never lost faith in AMD myself. I won't buy a top line CPU for top dollar ever again just to watch prices crash by half or so in less than a year.
I pick a price then look for the best bang for the money, normally what I can get for $100 roughly. I think AMD normally wins in that price range, anyway AMD is all I buy.
Been looking around for a cheap lappy for the kid for collage in a few weeks, first thing I look at is the CPU sticker, if it's Intel I just walk on by! If the sticker is AMD I look at other features on the lappy and price LOL
Don't ask me why I look at all though, not like I could buy one right now anyway!

went intel about 2 years ago but got a deal on a matx asus mb and X4 propus 620, the 4 core under 100 dollar new amd and excellent value, put it in the spare room
then I decided time to update my wife's 6600 rig so got an X4 BE 955 with gigabyte mb and very impressed
I updated my cpu from the E8400 to a Q9550 so the whole house was "quadded" and have to say the amd chips are about 2/3 the price or less
my sig rigs are from about 3 years ago, my last amd rigs until now!
