trading advice -beware of this scam guys

you do a trade the guy sends you to much money .in the forum of a certified check .and ask for you to send the different. then writes back and saids he decided to cancel the whole deal . and wants you to refund the cash .or the different and parts - don't do anything till the CHECK CLEARS !
this was played on a friend of mines brother .and there out $3500 as of today !
the check is no good and the phone no. the guy gave you is no longer in service -Even if you spoke to them 3 day earlyer
i have spoke to some other friends and this is a scam being played on e-bay .
better safe then sorry !
