which P4 mobo is the best?

Hey guys, thinking about getting a little Pee4 action going on and I m wondering which mobo would be the best choice in terms of speed, longevity and OC'ing of course

The Asus P4S533 w/ the SiS 645DX chipset looks really nice, but would it be better to go with one of the new Intel chipsets (845E or 845G...although from what I've read the E is nothing special) because the Intel chipset would be more likely to be compatible with prescott?

Anyways, what are some good boards being used? I don't really have a brand preference...although all the comps I've owned have had Asus boards and I've never had a problem with them. However, I got no problem with a little change of pace.

i have a msi 645 ultra which is pretty bare bones but ok - the 645 chipset has good memory throughput - if you want to get some serious oc gooing, make sure you can adjust the ram and vid voltage - newegg had refurb msi 845 baord for about `50 earlier this week - the plain 845 chipset seems to overcvlock well like the ol bx, you probably don't need all that onboard stuff

I've got a P4S533... it kicks mucho booty but I've yet to fully test the overclockability..
the memory performance on this chipset is awesome

I'm using an Asus P4B266-C. My P4 1.6A is stable as a rock at 2.24 GHz (140 FSB).

If I was buying a new P4 motherboard today, I'd choose the Asus P4T533-C for use with a P4 1.6A and PC1066 RDRAM.

I considered the P4S533. However, after a lot of reading posts from people overclocking, the P4B533 seemed the favorite.

I just got mine up and running an hour ago. Haven't had a chance to oc it yet...newegg shipped me a defective Antec, so I don't want to OC until I have decent power.

I looked at Asus and MSI mobo's... opted for a Gigabyte GA-8IHXP.

intel 850e
pc1066 RDRAM - dual channels
dual bios

overclocking is completely through bios, no messin with the hardware. if you keep your temps monitored then its great.

I'd go with the Gigabyte board sublimez mentioned. It's a bit expensive, especially if you opt for PC1066 RAM, but the features, stability, and performance warrant the cost. It's a far better value than the Asus i850E solutions.
