Laptop Video Card Upgrade?

Not too familiar of what's under the hood of laptops..
I've a VAIO w/ a Radeon Mobility, is there any way for me to change the vid card altogether a la PC upgrade style?

There's not much you can upgrade in a laptop except the HDD, the memory and (sometimes) the CPU.

Which is why I bought one with a GF4 and paid 1000 more :) oh well, its faster than my desktop

Sorry, but its impossible. Most, if not all laptops have the GPU soldered on. Even if you were lucky enough to find one with an upgradable GPU, i'd be willing to bet it would probably be a proprietry thing.

Welp, it turns out that pretty much most laptops are not upgradeable...
however, the newer Dell 8000 series laptops seem to be upgradeable... <sigh> Dude, I should've gotten a Dell..

Well if you are gonna scrap the laptop, at least try to change it... i have seen it done b4, its just HARD AS HELL to get parts for them,...

well, my docking station has a pci slot...wonder if I can slap in a r 7500 pci. :)
