Got this from the Hard Forum:
1.) Out of 1584 game decompression errors during the 90 day data retention period across both databases, 1431 of the errors are on Intel 13th or 14th gen CPU's. Second place (after 13900KS/K/KF and 14900KS/K/KF) is the i7-9700H with only 11 instances. AMD CPU's only had four crashes in total in this dataset.
2.) Crash rates occur on average every 2 hours of gameplay for affected users.
3.) Frequency of crash rates increase over time. (silicon or something else is degrading?)
4.) This is not due to overclocking.
5.) Datasets from game servers using either Asus or Supermicro W680 chipsets (no overclocking support, more conservative designs) show similar crash rates.
6.) Crash rates are also increasing over time on the W680 game server datasets...

Re: Looking like some Intel 13th gen failures are a hardware defect
There does seem to be two issues. One is a RAM over voltage problem that can easily be fixed in a microcode and/or BIOS update, and we don't know if the over voltage is damaging CPUs over time, so some of those may end up as RMAs.
The other seems to be the corrosion of the Via's. As Steve says in the video, which is a manufacturing defect. The corrosion issue SHOULD just be a limited number of chips produced during a certain period, which Intel should already know, in which case they need to release a list of production numbers and offer RMAs.
I suspect the problem is that Intel is far more interested in taking care of their enterprise and OEM customers first, and there is going to be a limited number of replacements available for a while, so individuals will be ignored for the time being.
But the way they're handling this is not a good look.

Jay's general recommendations to keep your 13th & 14th gen CPU's safe and stable until Intel releases a mirocode update.
