a 1.2ghz 266fsb tbird runs on a 9x multiplier(9x133=1200). Make sure your fsb is set to run in 133mhz(the tbird bus is ddr so it runs at 133ddr which is effectively 266mhz) mode. Upgrade to the latest bios. Also, you have said A7V several times and A7V133 once. Which is it? there is a big difference between the two. If you only have the A7V then that mobo has the KT133 chipset which can't do the 266fsb.... but if its the A7V133 then that has the KT133A chipset which can do 266fsb. Lastly, make sure your heatsink is mounted properly(not leaning off of one of the sides or something) and you have heatsink compound applied(ie.. Arctic Silver).
"Why build only one when you can build two for twice the price?"

I'm suspecting that I have an A7V (one with KT133 not KT133a) so I probably have to get a new DDR Motherboard. Can you guys recommend me the best one right now on the market? thx
and also. Would my PC150 rams work on the DDR board? or would I have to get another set of ram

you'd have to get new ram - try setting the fsb ~110 - that's about as high as my kt133 will go reliably - then play with the multiplier - you may be able to get close to rated speed without a new mobo or sell your chip and get a 100 fsb axia or avia

You REALLY need to figure out what board you have before you try to troubleshoot. Otherwise everyone is just guessing.I'm suspecting that I have an A7V (one with KT133 not KT133a)
It isn't that hard to figure out, the name of the board should be below the 4th PCI slot. If it's an A7V it'll say "A7V", and if it's an A7V133 it'll say "A7V133".

ok, don't matter wt the mobo is now. I just got a Asus A7A266 DDR board to go with my Tbird. It's running fine and no crashes. It's at 61.5 C though, is that normal temperature for a 1.2ghz Tbird? also...I'm experiencing EXTREMELY long Windows loadups. Can anyone tell me why? Windows never loaded so slow on my computer =(

No, that's pretty high. However, there are some BIOS issues with the A7A which cause incorrect temperature readings. You probably should check Asus for BIOS updates. For now, you should be able to tell by touching the heatsink on the CPU, if the CPU is at 61C then the heatsink should be damn hot. It's at 61.5 C though, is that normal temperature for a 1.2ghz Tbird?
Do you have a network card installed? If so, is it not connected to a network? Windows uses DHCP by default and if there's a card there that's not connected to a network it'll sit there for about a minute trying to get its IP addresses.also...I'm experiencing EXTREMELY long Windows loadups. hm...it isn't too hot. also it's not crashing either. I have a network card CONNECTED to the internet through an ADSL modem. But for some reason my HD just hangs there for like 50 seconds in the startup screen before it gets into windows...and my CD Rom has been acting weird. It reads this game CD and would take 30 seconds just to autorun the CD...Wt's wrong?! I'm getting a lot of weird problems ever since I switched to my new mobo, not to mention that I even formated and reinstalled windows
