Hi,
I'm just curious what email programs you guys are using. I'm using Outlook Express version 5, but I've been thinking about using something else like Endora (non-ms). I find that backing up and restoring all your messages before a format is a pain in the butt because of the way Outlook Express stores it's messages and address book. It would be nice to simply copy a few files to a floppy, restore the email program, and copy the saved fies and your done.
So tell me what your using!

oe 5.5 for me. It is far easier backing up netscapes email than in oe but I haven't checked the link FP posted in the other thread about that. But I got tired of all the password error messages in ns and the lockups that usually followed. ms makes it so easy to back up cookies and bookmarks so why can't it be the same easy way for messages too.
btw, check this out

I use OE 5. Any email that I want to save I always save to a seperat file by useing ths "save as" command. As for the address book it is easy to import or export it to a floppy just open the adress book and use import or export under the file command

Outlook for me. It comes with Office 2k and it hasn't given me any grief, so I've got no reason to change.

oe 5.0 on one machine (server) and works good enough. I use Outlook XP on my laptop, Outlook 2000 on my top end machine, and Office 2k on my workstation at work!
I see no reason to use other email clients, outlook is great.

The biggest advantage of Eudora is that it won't automatically open nasty VB scripts so it's less prone to virus's. I happen to use Outlook 2k because it syncs easily with my Palm.

Turning off vb scripting is real easy and stops those vb viruses. Just go to add-remove programs, windows setup, accessories and then
uncheck "windows scripting host". Hit "ok" till your out of add-remove programs and bingo, no more vb virus attacks.

Outlook 2000 gives me grief when I try to set it up with two e-mail accounts, so I'm sticking with Outlook Express 6.
