I am gonna have between $800 and $900 to build a computer for a friend. Only problem is that he wants it to be a very fast gaming machine, and needs EVERYTHING. Mouse/Keyboard/Monitor/Actual box/Speakers. I know I can do it I will just have to buy alot of the stuff of the boards. Any suggestions, and areas that you know that I could save some money please let me know.

I know I need to do generic mobo, soundcard, mouse/kb, but I am going to try and get a 17" monitor in here. Bestbuy had some for $100 after rebates.

true, either red or GCS can build you a decent gaming rig for around what you're looking to spend. Then go buy the monitor at BB or someplace like that.

LOL, well I would, but it isn't that he is trying to be cheap. Its all the money he has. Hes 14 and getting NO help from his parents. This is ALL coming out of his pocket.

i810e chipset based board, pci V5 5500, 128mb pc133, C2 600@900, 10.2gb drive, generic case... you should only be looking at $420 for that chuck

or a duron 650, and the matsonic socketA board (4x agp, sound ata 66, some with modem/lan too), V5 5500, generic Pc100 (no need for 133), 10.2gb drive, generic case... again same ball park price
