Ok, maybe I did something wrong with the KT7-RAID, but I now get another board (KK266) from Incredulous, and I get BootBlock Bios again?? WTF?? I'm not a moron, but it seems I obviously have more to learn about building PC's even though I've done my fair share....This can't be a hardware problem, the only thing in it is the mem, cpu, and vid card, so WTF?? Am I losing my abilities here, or was I boned?? Answers ladies and gentlemen, please!!!!

Can this be caused by CPU failure??? Anyone???

i dont know chris, i think there is something wrong other than the board. did you send the abit back to me yet? i'll test it with my cpu if you have. i would try to get a cheap duron to try out. did you try to flash the bios?

I have a T-Bird 750....When the computer starts, it asks for Awdflash.exe and the bios that I already have on disk....The computer starts AWDFLASH....loads the bios file...then locks up, everytime. I went to Iwill's website and downloaded an earlier bios and it did the same thing..AARRGGGGHHH!!!! The Abit is still here. I was waiting to get this board to send it out, but it looks like I'm still assed out. Anyways, I'm gonna beat my head against the desk and see if that works :bonk

ok so you have tried to flash both boards and both have failed? i was under the impression that the board i sent you wasnt working when you recieved it. So you tried to flash tha abit after you got it from me and it failed? I just want to make sure i understand it all. :)

No, I'm talking about the Iwill I just got.... When I got the Abit, i also got the BootBlock Bios screen, but it wouldn't let me access any files from a floppy disk. Then, when I inserted a Windows startup disk, I got to the A: prompt and started AWDFLASH, the thing rebooted itself. Now, whenever I turn on power to the PS, the board turns itself on.....Is your house haunted or what??? Anyways, I'm now trying to figure out why the Iwill keeps on locking up when it runs awdflash.....Later-

Try a new floppy drive and/or cable to make sure that ain't making the flash fail.

Can you get into the bios on the kk266 at all? In the bios there's a setting u need to change if your trying to flash the bios. Can't think of what its under but its int he same spot where you chagne your CPU settings at. U need to enable it so that you can flash the bios. If its disabled it won't allow you to flash. This could be your problem with the kk266. Also i don't know how far out there this might be but is it possible that he might have a memory resident virus such as CIH? And that the bios is picking it up and not allowing it to boot? I know i got CIH about a year ago and had a hell of a time cleaning it up as it would reside in the memory and most virus scanners wouldn't get it out. It finally took a dos proggy to clean the computer 100% free of that virus. Just a thought.

Read this entire thread, especially the post from someone named bladerunner.

I just did a simple search with my browser and came up with this, hopefully you'll find something useful in it.

Only if you get it working.

If you still can't flash it, maybe you could call around to some mom & pop shops. Sometimes you can get lucky and find someone that has an EEPROM burner.

Good luck to you.
